On local time Mar.27^th, an economic and trade delegation led by Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jieyang Municipal Committee, Mayor of Municipal Government Chen Dong arrived in Berlin, the capital of Germany, and then visited ALBA Group, WISTA and other partners to havetalks about deepening the bilateral cooperation and promoting the key projects construction in Sino-German Metal Eco-City.

    The delegation first visited the headquarters of ALBA Group, one of the ten largest international enterprises in recycling and environmental protection. The delegation was warmly welcomed by CEO of ALBA Group Dr. Axel Schweitzer, and CEO of ALBA Group, president of DIHK (Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry) Dr. Eric Schweitzer. Chen Dong expressed his congratulation to the successful cooperation in resources regeneration base and believed that the concept of green development which highly accords with that of ALBA Group is the important foundation for mutual cooperation. Chen Dong hopes that both sides jointly accelerate the project construction to achieve benefits as soon as possible. At the thought of his experience in Jieyang, Dr. Axel Schweitzer highly appreciated the design of the whole industry chain and the concept of sustainable development of Sino-German Metal Eco-City, and he expressed his hope to create the project of resources regeneration base as a model for the cooperation between China and Germany. Dr. Eric Schweitzer wishes to build a cooperative park for environmental protection industries between China and Germany,as a base in China for DIHK and a platform for German environmental protection enterprises entering China. Both sides exchanged views on Jieyang’s introduction of the third-generation household waste treatment technology “Green Coal”. After visiting the treatment plant of ALBA Group in Berlin, deputy secretary of the CPC Puning Municipal Committee, Mayor Chen Qunfeng said, “The fresh air and the blue sky make me comfortable. The complex process in the treatment plant only needs five people to manage with high efficiency. To garbage classification and recycling such great attention is paid that the social and economic benefits are high.” Director of Economic & Information Bureau of Jieyang Yuan Wenjian thought that “Jieyang’s cooperation with ALBA Group could promote the transformation and upgrading of the traditional industries in Jieyang, Guangdong and even in China, and promote the green development. The most important thing is to change our mind and reach consensus to contribute to the settlement of the project.”

    In the afternoon of that day, the delegation visited Adlershof industrial parkand the enterprise incubator in the park,discussing in detail about the MOU on the cooperation of Sino-German Metal Eco-City and the framework agreement on innovation incubation base cooperation with WISTA. Both sides express ideas in terms of the institutional arrangement and the implementation steps of WISTA’s full participation in the operation and management of Sino-German Metal Eco-City and the co-construction of the innovation incubation base. Director of Bureau of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Jieyang Municipality Jiang Wenhua thinks that introducing the management of the park and the operation of the enterprise is a great invention and it has a great impact on the traditional system of the park. He says, “For a member in charge of foreign trade and economic cooperation, it is more important to introduce ideas, talents, management and brands than to introduce capitals.The former introduction plays a larger role in the introduction and the upgrading of the industries. Adlershof is the most successful high-tech industrial park in Germany, and WISTA is the most successful enterprise in park management, so we wish Sino-German Metal Eco-City to be the most successful park in China.”

    Director of ZhongDe Metal Group, vice president Liu Feizhou says, “Comparing with the first visit for investigation and the second visit for seeking cooperation, Jieyang achieves more cooperation results in the third visit. With the settlement of Sino-German Resources Regeneration Base, Jietang’s cooperation with Germany will be expanded and Sino-German Metal Eco-City, as an important platform for Sino-German cooperation, seizes the historic opportunity to achieve the transformation and upgrading of the industry. Germany is a good friend of China so we must exchange and cooperate more frequently and closely to achieve more benefits.”
