On Jan. 21^st, a delegation led by chief representative of the UNIDO Edward Clarence Smith and project coordinator Ma Jian visited Jieyang was warmly welcomed by Mayor of Jieyang Chen Dong. During their stay in Jieyang, the delegation investigated Sino-German Metal Eco-City and the MEUJ, extended full affirmation of the remarkable achievement of the project and expressed their wishes to provide full support for the construction of the industrial park.

    At the meeting in the MEUJ, Edward Clarence Smith spoke highly of the MEUJ for coordinating the local metal enterprises and promoting the development of the green industry. He expresses that the mode to cooperate with Germany in the project is great, and he is willing to provide full support for the construction of Sino-German Metal Eco-City. Clarence Smith points out that the high-end surface treatment process is of great importance to the transformation and upgrading and later the UNIDO will build a cleaner production center in Jieyang, and he hopes that the MEUJ would take part in the project to promote the leaping development of urbanization.

    Wu Kedong warmly welcomed the delegation led by Edward Clarence Smith. Wu expresses that the MEUJ is actively exploring new ways for the sustainable development of the new economy, and it will spare no effort to help the UNIDO build the cleaner production center. Meanwhile, he wishes to get personnel support from the UNIDO to solve the problem of environmental pollution with low cost and high efficiency, truly achieving the transformation and upgrading of the local economy.
