On Jan. 14^th, Sino-German Innovational Platform for Metal Industry ushered in a great event. The construction commencement ceremony of three German enterprises was held in Sino-German Metal Eco-City, which marked a formal stage of substantial construction of the cooperation projects between China and Germany. Member of the CPC Jieyang Municipal Committee Standing Committee, Executive Vice Mayor Chen Chengmin, former German Federal Minister of Defense, CEO of RSBK GmbH Rudolf Scharping, other leaders and distinguished guests at home and abroad attended the ceremony.

    Three among the first batch of German enterprises are KCL GmbH, German Ferinand Menrad Holdings Ltd. and ASANUS Medizintechnik GmbH. KCL GmbH will invest 240 million yuan in three construction projects of automobile parts, including automotivedashboard project, engine controller master board project and oxygen sensor project. German Ferinand Menrad Holdings Ltd, which has made its investment in Jieyang for 20 years, will first invest 300 million yuan in building Menrad Optical (Asian) production base in the industrial park. ASANUS Medizintechnik GmbH will first invest 500 million yuan in building a production center of high-quality surgical instruments, a production base of RFID chip and a R&D center of software system.

    As a provincial key project, Sino-German Metal Eco-City is aimed at becoming an important platform for Sino-German cooperation, and a demonstration area in which traditional competitive industries develop intensively and cleaner production and circular economy are promoted. Three leading German enterprises start construction, marking the remarkable achievement of foreign cooperation of Sino-German Metal Eco-City and creating a great journey in which a big project boosts the economy. It is of great and profound significance to promote the integration of industry and city and to build a good demonstration area.
