The first four-day EU-China Exhibition on Urban Development was held ceremoniously on Nov. 20^that Beijing Exhibition Center. Co-organized by National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and European Commission Directorate-General for Energy, the exhibition was implemented by China Center for Urban Development and in partnershipwith China Development Bank (CDB) and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC). With an exhibition scale of 19,000 square meters and 158 booths, the exhibition was attended by more than 300 representatives including governmental organizations, cities, enterprises and social groups from China and European Union. Member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee, Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli attended the opening ceremony and visited the exhibition hall, accompanied by vice president of European Commission Siim Kallas. This exhibition is high- level and large-scale with various forms and advanced ideas, which has over 50,000 visitors during the four days.

    As the only exhibition project from eastern Guangdong, Sino-German Metal Eco-City was warmly welcome when it turned out in Beijing. During the exhibition, the number of visitors exceeded one thousand. In addition, the advanced operating mode, the ideas for ecological industry development, the fruitful achievements made in the cooperation among Jieyang, Germany and other European countries were spoke highly by the attendees. Furthermore, the representatives from Jieyang were interviewed by Phoenix New Media, which adds brilliance to the present splendor and lays a solid foundation for project and brand promotion.

    Through an in-depth understanding of the construction progress of Sino-German Metal Eco-City, the visiting governmental officers from other cities in China highly appreciated the innovative operating mode and international cooperation pattern. They also expressed admiration for the staged achievements and invited Jieyang delegation to investigate their parks and to conduct further cross-regional cooperation.

    The international friends including Minister of German Embassy in China Beate Grzeski and Economic Counselor Bai Yue’en, the representatives from German international cooperation organizations ( GIZ ), AS&P, Norway Embassy in China, Electricity of France, Finn Air, University of Nottingham Ningbo and China Embassy in Germany, expressed after mutual communication that it is a remarkable event for Jieyang and even the whole country to have such a project which aims at developing metal industry based on the ecological idea. They wish the project a great success and promise to support the project as best as they can.

China Ambassadors to Germany ask for in-depth information of project construction

 

    With a general picture of the project, the leaders from the top 500 enterprises of China like China Huadian Group, Citic Group, CWH Group and Beijing Capital Land point out that the project construction is in the high-speed development period and both sides have many cooperative opportunities. Visits to Jieyang for investigation and further exchange will be arranged next to lay a foundation for the later all-round cooperation.
 

    A large number of senior executives from investment companies, design agencies and park construction units came to learn about the construction experience and model on their own initiative. They also hoped that they could participate in the project construction to seek more cooperation opportunities.  

 

    During the exhibition, the exhibition room of Sino-German Metal Eco-City has received great attention from mass media such as China Radio International, the Beijing News, China Enterprises News, China Plan Wet, Phoenix New Media and so on. Meanwhile, the project is highly appreciated by regional governmental officers, foreign ambassadors to China, well-known scholars, senior executives from multinational corporations and large-scale state-owned enterprises. For the attendees from Jieyang, the exhibition experience is meaningful and unforgettable. According to reports, more than 5000 units had registered to take part in the exhibition and only 9 units from Guangdong Provincewere listed in the end. Furthermore, Sino-German Metal Eco-City project is admitted as the only one from eastern Guangdong. There is no doubt that it is a great honor for ZhongDe Metal Group to be one of the 158 exhibitors. On behalf of Jieyang, Sino-German Metal Eco-City has increased the social awareness and boosted the project’s impact to a large extent thanks to its perfect performance in the Euro-China Exhibition on Urban Development. In the meanwhile, it gathers more popularity and provides effective support for the next investment attraction work. The successful exhibition experience has firmed our faith in Sino-German Metal Eco-City project which is to be the leading demonstration in the new round of China-German cooperation.
