From Nov.18^th to 20^th, a German delegation led by CEO of RSBK GmbH Rudolf Scharping visited Jieyang for investigation. Among members of the delegation, there are not only top managers from powerful enterprises, but also leaders from some famous universities and scientific research institutions. In the interview, they express that Sino-German Metal Eco-City has high starting point, advanced design concept and high speed construction. In the next step, both sides will deepen cooperation and speed up the project construction to ensure that it creates benefits as soon as possible.

    Rudolf Scharping has visited Jieyang ten times within less than ten months. When being asked why visited Jieyang frequently in such a short time, he said with a smile that it was the warm reception of Jieyang people and Jieyang government that made him feel happy. Without this project of Sino-German Metal Eco-City, he would not have the chance to cooperate with Jieyang or have such a friendship with Jieyang local government and enterprises. Because of this project, there starts a successful journey of friendship and cooperation. Scharping mentions that during the cooperation, they strongly feel the urgent need from Jieyang metal industry for transformation and upgrading and the innovative operation mode of Sino-German Metal Eco-City. Meanwhile they also notice the importance of this project and a series of supporting policies from governments at all levels. Theseincrease his sense of responsibility to spare no efforts on the project construction to promote the construction together and help the project create benefits soon.

    Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, founded in 1949, is the biggest applied science research organization in German and even in Europe, consisting of more than 80 research institutions.It mainly develops new technologies, new products, and new processes for enterprises, especially for medium and small ones, helpingthem deal with the organization and management issues in the process of development and innovation. In Fraunhofer IPK,Institute for Production Plants and Construction Technolog, head of Enterprise Management Department Prof. Dr. Kohl Holger speaks highly of the proper layout and the advanced design concept of Sino-German Metal Eco-City, which accords with the current international development trend of cleaner production and circular economy. Holger says the cooperation between the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and China in technology industry, business, and education has been more than 20 years. Those research and development projects which are joined and implemented by several institutes of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft have been an important part of the scientific and technological cooperation between two countries. Therefore, Holger expresses that Fraunhofer-Gesellschaf is willing to provide great service and support in the aspects of technical upgrading and ecological protection, co-constructing this project as a demonstration area of the green industry development.

    FRANK GmbH is a medium-sized enterprise that specializes in the production and the sale of accessories of plastics pipe system and related equipment. The CEO Dr. Habedank Christian makes his first trip to Jieyang. When talking about this, he used the word “surprised” several times to express his feelings. Dr. Habedank says that he had no clear idea about this project before his visit to Jieyang. He was surprised at the construction scale and the construction progress after visiting the construction site of Sino-German Metal Eco-City. Jieyang Surface Treatment Eco-industrial Park has already completed 70% of the construction work and the construction of five centers including science and technology center, financial center, design center, service center and convention center have already started. The infrastructure construction is already fully under way. All these show them the bright prospects of the development of Sino-German Metal Eco-City and strengthen their confidence and determination to settle in Jieyang. Dr. Habedank told the reporter that their enterprise can produce plastic pipes with a diameter of 4 meters,which are made up of high-tech synthetic materials with many advantages such as lighter weight, corrosion resistance, high compressive strength, long service life, and so on, applying to the fields of city water supply and industry sewage disposal. Meanwhile, the plastic pipes can make full use of the heat energy produced from sewage to recycle, which will save energy and protect the environment. When talking about the achievement the plan, Habedank says that they have signed a cooperation agreement with Beijing Longhan Investment Co., Ltd. According to the agreement, they will speed up the cooperation progress between both sides, and then set up plants in Jieyang.This will not only reduce the production cost but also create great job opportunities for local people.
