Signing ceremony for projects of Sino-German Metal Eco-City was held on Nov.19th

    Former German Federal Minister of Defense, former chairman of German Social Democratic Party and CEO of RSBK GmbH Rudolf Scharping led a delegation of German entrepreneurs to visit Jieyang and attended a signing ceremony for projects of Sino-German Metal Eco-City on the afternoon of Nov.19th. Secretary of the CPC Jieyang Municipal Committee, director of Standing Committee of Municipal People’s Congress Chen Lyuping, deputy secretary of the CPC Jieyang Municipal Committee, Mayor of Municipal Government Chen Dong, and deputy secretary general of Guangdong Provincial Government Liu Xiaojie attended the signing ceremony as well. Deputy Mayor of Municipal Government Chen Dingxiong presided over the signing ceremony.

    At the ceremony, a cooperation agreement was signed among the Metal Enterprises Union of Jieyang, Guangdong Sino-Germen D.S. Education Investment Co., Ltd. and HochschuleDarmstadt University of Applied Sciences; a cooperation agreementon investment in the park between Beijing Longhan Investment Co., Ltd. and FRANK GmbH; a cooperation agreement between  ZhongDe Metal Group Co., Ltd. and Fraunhofer IPK; a cooperation agreement on establishing a coordinationoffice in Frankfurt between ZhongDe Metal Group Co., Ltd. and RSBK GmbH. The signing of the projects further promotes a new round of Sino-German cooperation, signifying a new breakthrough concerningthe investment in the park and another significant milestone for the construction of Sino-German Metal Eco-City.

    Before the ceremony, Chen Lyuping met with the delegation and warmly welcomed them on behalf of Jieyang municipal committee of CPC and municipal government. According to Chen Lyuping, Sino-German Metal Eco-City is a new achievement acquired in China-Germany cooperation. Signing a series of new cooperation agreements is not only a breakthrough toraise the awareness and increase the impact for the project, but also a breakthrough to solve difficulties of park development and investment in the park. It means that these two key issues about industrial sewage treatment and industrial talents training have made substantive progress since the preliminary discussion. Chen Lyuping points out that it is significant to push forward the upgrading of local metal industry with the help of high-level R&D team from German IPK Institute and the world’s leading low-carbon technology. Chen expects that Sino-German Dual University of Applied Sciences is to be accomplished as soon as possible and to be put into operation timely for setting an example for Sino-German educational cooperation.Talking about quickening the project construction, Chen also points out that the key lies in introducing more enterprises into the park and highlighting German elements. Many famous German enterprises, like FRANK, Beijing Longhan Investment, Berkenhoffand Carl Zeiss, come to Jieyang for field investigation, which presentsa bright prospect of park development for us.Besides, the infrastructure construction of Sino-German Metal Eco-City will follow the German standards and the supplementary services regarding to talents, science and research, logistics and exhibition should be provided based on the German experience. Chen also mentions that Jieyang sincerely welcomes various enterprises to cooperate with Jieyang in the fields of finance, education, technology, equipment, management and brand with a more open-minded attitude. Apart from these, more German entrepreneurs are expected to come to Jieyang for investigation and to participate in the construction of Sino-German Metal Eco-City. We together would go all out to accomplish the project with the shortest time, best philosophy and effective measures. 

    Rudolf Scharping spoke highly of the staged achievements made during the construction of Sino-German Metal Eco-City. He has full confidence in the prospect of the cooperation between Germany and Jieyang. He said that he would try his best to promote the bilateral cooperation to a higher level with strategic vision, optimistic mind, firm conviction and effective action. In the meanwhile, he would spare no efforts to provide more technological support for the local enterprises and to upgrade the quality of products from Jieyang.

    Liu Xiaojie expressed in the reception that provincial government would urge relevant sections to offer the best services and preferential policies for the construction of Sino-German Metal Eco-City in the fields of investment attraction, project approval, tax revenue, landing use and so on. And he hoped that Sino-German Metal Eco-City could be built as a spotlight in the transformation and structuraladjustment of industrial economy of Guangdong Province. Meanwhile, Sino-German Metal Eco-City is expected to enlarge the cooperation in the aspects of German science and research, education, exhibition and tourism, and to gain greater achievements concerning the cooperation between Germany and Jieyang, even Guangdong.
