After Premier Li Keqiang had returned from a visit to Germany, and member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee Hu Chunhua had led a delegation of the CPC to visit Germany, deputy secretary of the CPC Jieyang Municipal Committee, Mayor of Municipal Government Chen Dong led an economic and trade delegation to visit Germany for investigation, and then was invited to attend the election campaign of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The delegation was warmly received by Chancellor Angela Merkel, furthering the friendly relation of both sides from the political level, and accelerating to make substantive progress in the internationalization of Sino-German Metal Eco-City.

    Chancellor Angela Merkel took time from her busy schedule to receive the delegation. Ms. Merkel reaffirms that to strengthen the cooperation with China is in the common interests of both countries, and is the right choice which is in accordance with the development of times. Sino-German Metal Eco-City is the important carrier and platform for Sino-German cooperation. German top leaders will actively promote the cooperation process between both sides, seek the optimized allocation of resources, and thus achieve win-win results in the cooperation. It is the first time for a delegation from Jieyang to be invited to attend the election campaign of German Chancellor in the exchanges between China and German.
