On Sept. 14^th, Professor Stengler, the president of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, visited Jieyang and the site of Sino-German Metal Eco-City. After surveying the whole planning of the industrial park, the development progress of the park, and especially the site of Sino-German University of Applied Sciences, he is trying to search the cooperation field on mutual vocational education cooperation. This is a new breakthrough after the cooperation memo signed in July.

 

    Sino-German University of Applied Sciences that is planned to be developed with Germany will be located in Sino-German Metal Eco-City, with 1500 mu land field and 20000 students. The University will be based on vocational education and targeted on developing high-skilled talents and management talents. We'd plan to establish the university with the qualification of issuing bachelor degree, which will be completed and recruit students in 2015. The cooperation counterpart, Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, located in Hesse-Darmstadt, is one of the top 10 applied universities in Germany, which owns 13000 undergraduate students, more than 40 majors. It is a famous university of applied sciences with the goal of cultivating application-oriented bachelors and masters.

 

    On Sept. 15^th, the Metal Enterprises Union of Jieyang had a deep negotiation with Professor Stengler and reached agreements. The both sides will co-build a coordination team on major and curriculum plan, introducing teachers, the training of teachers, students exchange and management etc. The construction of the university will be examined according to German quality system. Double academic diplomas from both China and Germany shall be issued after students’ successful completion of the program.

 

   President Stengler expresses that Sino-German Metal Eco-City has a scientific planning and positive development, the co-building dual-system university will totally qualify Chinese vocational education development trend and the talents needs in the future Chinese market. The Sino-German University of Applied Sciences will be a pioneer in the field of vocational education in China and even the world.
