Sept. 12^th, numerous delegations from Darmstadt University of Applied Technology, IWAR Institute of TU Darmstadt, Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tongji University, Austrian Andritz Group came to Jieyang and held talks with Jieyang entrepreneurs and relevant municipal leaders for wide-ranged Sino-German cooperation. This is the positive outcome of the constant effort of German RSBK GmbH and the strong support of Rudolf Scharping, chairman of RSBK GmbH. Substantial intended cooperative items were carried on with deep discussion by both sides within three days.

    “Municipal government gives full support to the cooperative items,” Mayor Chen Dong said. “As one of two platforms for Guangdong’s Sino-German cooperation strategies, Sino-German Metal Eco-City has the incomparable advantage of political policy. The Sino-German cooperation must be of mutual benefits based on the innovative operating system and the practical park plan.”

    This is the sixth visit of Rudolf Scharping to Jieyang. Scharping was impressed by the fast progress of the construction of buildings in Sino-German Metal Eco-City. According to Sharping’s arrangement, director of the Economic Department of Baden-Wuerttemberg State is to visit Jieyang in November to seek cooperative opportunity. Meanwhile, the director hopes that the cooperation between Jieyang and Germany could be uplifted from business level to political level.

    Martin Wagner, professor from IWAR Institute, who made his second visit to the construction site of Sino-German Metal Eco-City, was pleasantly surprised to find that the scale of construction had enlarged in a certain extend. He mentioned that further research would be made in the plan of the construction site of SEMIZENTRAL supply and treatment center. Since the signing of cooperative MOU between IWAR Institute and the MEUJ, substantial cooperation has been put into real work. In the coming days, SEMIZENTRAL supply and treatment center will be built in Sino-German Metal Eco-City.

    The discussions on intended cooperative items are being carried on between entrepreneurs from the MEUJ and delegations from IWAR Institute of TU Darmstadt, Darmstadt University of Applied Technology, Austrian Andritz Group.
