Jun. 13th and 14th , Mr. Rudolf Scharping, former German Federal Minister of Defense, former Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, CEO of RSBK GmbH, together with Johannes Dell, managing director of the AS&P - Architects Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (AS&P), visited the Metal Enterprises Union of Jieyang (MEUJ) for cooperation, which further promoted a substantial progress for China-Germany cooperation. Mayor of Jieyang City Chen Dong attended the meeting.

      After listening to Chairman of MEUJ Wu Kedong’s detailed report on the construction progress of ZhongDe Metal Eco-City and the recent arrangement, Mr. Sharping spoke highly of the general progress of the current cooperation. He mainly recommended AS&P, one of the most renowned companies for urban planning and architecture in Germany, which he expected to cooperate with the top design company in China Zhubo Design on the planning and design of ZhongDe Metal Eco-City to co-construct an ecological demonstration zone with the German standards. Scharping also promised to fully promote the further cooperation between two countries on vocational education, publicity & promotion, introduction of enterprises & technology, operation & management, etc.

      Mayor Chen Dong extended his warm welcome to Scharping’s visit once again with the delegation. He said, with the help of German entrepreneurs and MEUJ, ZhongDe Metal Eco-City would become a home in China for German enterprises and played a role as a bridge, introducing German products into Chinese market, as well as German advanced managing experiences and high-end technology, to achieve a complementary win-win.

      During the two-day talks, both sides reached a series of consensuses and implemented a liaison mechanism. Both sides expected that a series of cooperative achievements would be brought out during German delegation’s visit to Jieyang in the beginning of July and Jieyang delegation’s visit to Germany in the end of July.

       Deputy director of department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong Province Chen Yuehua also attended the meeting. He said, the provincial department would fully support to actively promote the comprehensive cooperation between China and Germany.

      Afterwards, a delegate of AS&P visited and investigated the construction site of ZhongDe Metal Eco-City and ZhongDe University of Technology.
