On the morning of May 10th,2013, the groundbreaking ceremony of Chinese-German Innovational Platform was grandly held in ZhongDe Metal Eco-City. German guests specially attending the event were Philipp Mißfelder, member of  German Bundestag, foreign policy spokesman for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag, chairman of the Junge Union, and Alfons Schneider, member of the executive board of the Foundation for Family Business, and etc.

      Chinese-German Innovation Platform in Metal Industry is the key first-phase project of ZhongDe Metal Eco-City, focusing on the transformation and upgrading of metal industry in Jieyang, firstly constructing the demonstration project of comprehensive cooperation between China and Germany on production, technology and talents, etc. At the ceremony, chairman of Metal Enterprises Union of Jieyang Wu Kedong, secretary of municipal committee of the CPC Chen Luping, and Mr.Mißfelder delivered a speech respectively. As the attending guests together started the auspicious lever, Chinese-German Innovation Platform in Metal Industry officially started the construction.

      Afterwards, the signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation of Chinese-German Innovation Platform in Metal Industry and the forum were held in Rong Jiang Hotel. mayor of Jieyang Chen Dong, deputy director of the Economic & Information Commission of Guangdong Province Cai Yong, chairman of MEUJ Wu Kedong and Alfons Schneider, member of the executive board of the Foundation for Family Business signed the letter of intent on the cooperation of constructing Chinese-German Innovation Platform in Metal Industry.

      At the forum, secretary of municipal committee of the CPC Chen Luping firstly extended his sincere welcome to Mr.Mißfelder and the delegation on behalf of Jieyang municipal government and express his gratitude to Mr.Mißfelder for his promoting the cooperation between the Foundation for Family Business and Metal Enterprises Union of Jieyang. He said, the signing stood for the new step of Chinese-German cooperation and the new substantial development in the construction of ZhongDe Metal Eco-City. This is the significant measures of developing innovational economy and promoting the transformation and upgrading of local traditional industry by the municipal government, the vivid practice of the implementation of  ‘innovation-driven’ strategy,  and the new fruit of the friendly relations and cooperation between China and Germany. This strategic cooperation will be treated as a matter of primary importance for the implementation of  ‘innovation-driven’ strategy to set up the well-operation coordination mechanism, seriously implement the articles of cooperation agreement and strongly promote all the work of the project.

       Mr.Mißfelder said, during the visit in Jieyang, he felt the determination of practical development and the sincerity of enhancing the cooperation for Jieyang governors and entrepreneurs. In the future, he would actively promote the cooperation between Germany and China, introducing more German enterprises to invest and develop in Jieyang. He expressed his confidence and expectation for the future of ZhongDe Southern (Jieyang) Metal Eco-City.
